MY YEAR

I have often fallen into the trap of claiming this will be my year. My year to get fit, to save, to travel, to land that dream job! Well after much deliberation I have concluded that this phrase may just as well be as un-attainable as finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Don't get me wrong, I love goal setting just as much as any other control-freak, however I have realised that through focusing on what is meant to happen at the finish line I have neglected to look back on what I have achieved. While this year I did not travel, I barely saved, and I didn't land that dream job, I have finally completed my degree, made new friendships, seen some pretty spectacular places, and discovered much more about who I am and what I want. Now, if you ask me (you didn't), that is something to be proud of... and with 2017 looming, who knows, it may just be my year!

JOY

I MUST CONFESS...At times I get wrapped up in the world of social media. Scrolling through Instagram or refreshing my news feed can often leave me feeling deflated and looking like something that resembles a green eyed monster. While I am sure I am not the only (twenty-something) girl who gets distracted from my own wonderful life in the daydream of something bigger and better, I have decided that enough is enough. It is time to focus on something much more important, and that is sharing my voice to CHANGE THE WORLD (or at least inspire the few people who read my blog- my mum typically being 50% of my audience). If we begin to use the powerful tool of social media to inspire and create, we can uplift the spirit's of impressionable teens, and ultimately make a lasting change. So this post is simply in celebration of all the little things that inspire me and make me happy, in hope that you too may find joy in reading this.

The silly season is once again swiftly sneaking up on us… and I am definitely not complaining. While lately my days have been spent studying for exams (one more to go!), the spring vibes already have my spirits lifted. This summer will be dedicated to sun baking, beach bumming, soul searching, bikini wearing and embracing new and exciting adventures every day!
